Our story
It all started on holiday
Before we became locals, we were guests.
In 2011, my first trip to the Caribbean sparked a dream. A few years later I discovered Curaçao – and came back five years in a row.
Every holiday showed me more of the island. New places. New people. New possibilities.
And I made the same mistakes so many visitors make: the wrong area to stay in, the wrong rental car, activities that turned out differently than expected, underestimated distances – or simply the wrong plan.
With every holiday, I understood Curaçao a little better.
Why Curaçao?
At some point, it was no longer just about sun and sea.
It was the people. The openness. The cultural diversity. The natural way everyone lives together. That feeling of being welcome.
Add the nature, the ocean, the climate and a special lightness we felt every single time we returned to the island.
At some point, Curaçao was no longer just our holiday destination.
It felt like home.
The turning point
Why wait?
The dream of living in the Caribbean one day had been there for a long time.
Eventually, only one question remained: why put this dream off until someday?
In 2021, regular trips finally turned into a new life. Curaçao became our home base.
Experience became an idea
We wanted to create what we would have wished for as holidaymakers.
Someone on Curaçao who truly knows the island. Who listens. Gives honest advice. Knows the differences. Helps you avoid mistakes – and doesn't just sell you anything.
That's why the idea for CuraVida was born even before we emigrated.
After arriving on Curaçao, everything started small: personal island tours, holiday planning, activities and a network of people and businesses on the island.
First guests became many more. Experience became expertise. And over the years, a small idea grew into something bigger.
CuraVida → Next Level Travel
CuraVida became the next chapter.
Over the years, our experience, network, demand and possibilities kept growing.
This gave rise to Next Level Travel – an evolution of the original idea with a bigger goal: helping even more people experience Curaçao exactly the way that suits them.
CuraVida has stayed with us. Today the brand lives on as our German-language CuraVida island tour – the experience with which an important part of our story began.
